That's actually a pretty good deal. I paid just over $1100.00 for the exact same thing (except it has a P4 2.4), from Dell just a couple of months ago.

Looking at this laptop for a friend. At first glance it dosen't seem too bad. A couple posters have memtioned it only does but that may mot be too much a problem for him. Most non techs don't use much tighter resalutions anyway. One thing I'm seeing that concerns me is the appearent lack of any modular drives or did I miss that inthe spec's.

Config a Compaq 2100 online first to see the price there. Remember that they have a $100 rebate and a 10% off coupon along with no shipping or tax if you config online. I think there maybe a spare battery promo online too.

Oh and the chipset is the ATi IGP-320-M. Graphics is integrated R7000. Uses 64MB ram when you put in 256 or more. Upgrade to 2400+ since it's a Barton.
