I'm asking here because it's an issue I'm having with this forum.

For some reason, randomly when I browse this forum, my screen will blink and come back on blurred... then it'll blink again and go back to normal...

i'm using an eVGA 6800gt pci-e not overclocked or anything...

and for some reason it's only this forum... no other forums have this problem... no other programs have this problem... only on this forum...

werd!!!

any help?

it has to be some sort of issue with the way this forum is laid out or something in this forum that triggers the screen to black out for 1 second.

i had an ati x800xl before and had no problems...

no other programs, webpages, or whatever does not cause this...

i'm 100% sure it's this forum...

any other forum use fusetalk?

I disagree KruptosAngelos, something about the ads on this site cause IE to crash now and then for me

Yeah, but disrupting the signal to your video card? I'm sure we would have heard about this before.

Hardware only works because of drivers and every-time IE crashes for me on this forum, MS tells me it's an unknown device driver KruptosAngelos

I have no problems and we have tons of people here who use IE as well, they don't seem to have problems.

It's not the forums. It's you guys. Something is wrong with you.

What is your refresh rate?

If on default 60 you will get that, crank it up to 72.

There was a time, with an older ATI driver set, that my Sapphire 9600XT would cause a bluescreen with the AMD banner ad. Video driver problem for sure.

If I was paranoid... (runs dual Xeon) ;)

Same problem as Zim's. Happens when the ads are loaded up. Downloaded Absolute Uninstaller and cleaned the nonsense out the system Saturday morning. Been fine for three days now, knock on wood. My problem was occuring about once every 8-10 hours.

There you go.

The max resolution for that monitor is 1600 x 1200 at 60 hz.

You will have to drop back one notch in resolution to crank refresh rate up.

Just go to advanced and then List All Modes and select next resolution down at 72 hz

Problem solved, enjoy.

It's an LCD. No matter whar resolution he runs it at it will be listed at 60 hz. "refresh rates" in LCDs don't work the same as in CRT's. They are determined by the response time that the monitor is rated at. 16ms ~= 60hz. 14ms ~= 72hz. 12ms ~= 85hz.

Your LCDs pixels don't suddenly opperate faster when you use a lower resolution. The electron gun in your CRT will run faster when when there are less pixels, which is why you can get that hz increase when lowering your resolution.

Interesting, mine does too. I didn't try the other port but found the refresh change fixed my problem.

Multiple solutions

BS, it can be the ads. I've never had a problem with AT ads, but one of IGN ads caused me to crash before.
