I just realized after selling off my faithful I-750 setup for Z77/2700K setup that Intel Quick sync doesn't work if you have a SLI or Crossfire setup.

Something about Lucid not giving a crap about people who have dual gpu setup due to their small population. Very very upset.

Done with my rant.

I found that Quick Sync gave worse quality and was actually slower than just using software and letting my CPU transcode a video. It's supposed to be faster, but it was only faster than Cuda. My Overclocked 3570k finished the encoding faster than QuickSync could.

What software were you using? Sounds like you had a serious misconfiguration of whatever it was.

I'm guessing you've got something that isn't setup properly. Using MediaEspresso on my old i5 2500K gave me a 31 minute encode of Gladiator (extended edition - 2h51m) at 1080p@15Mbps. My i7 3770K has only improved those times.

Arcsoft media converter and no it was configured properly. I asked about this on another forum dedicated to HT when I noticed it and a few users mentioned their overclocked CPUs also finished faster.

Then maybe it's the software itself. I've read lots of reviews about quick sync and it doens't make sense that every single one of them was wrong.

-all smoke and mirrors
-the good thing about the items you mention , also on board sound is that asus \ GB has allow us to turn it all off the crxp off in the bios ,not sure what rainbow you were chasing , but it does not exist pass the marketing dream .IMO.
-so sli is now capped @ pci-e 2.0 with the 2700k , not sure why you didn't go ib

Don't really care too regarding PCIE-3 since I don't plan on upgrading my card anytime soon. Also at the time Microcenter was offering $50 only if you bought the I2700K or 3450K.

So the price difference between SB and IB along with $50 off mobo made sense to go with SB.

I have turned of integrated gfx due it causing more issues than good. Kept getting BSOD with DVD Fab due to virtu*.sys boming out.

Once that was disabled all is well. Using my 460 2win to encode with dvd fab with pretty good results.
