VERY Strange Problems with SN45G Shuttle PC

I got a Shuttle SN45G nForce2 SFF PC in today.

Dropped in all the parts and loaded up windows on a brand new WD 80gig 8MB HDD.

I installed windows fine, it went very fast.

During the install, when it rebooted, after it detected all of the IDE drives, it hung for 30 seconds then finsihed the setup.

I installed the mobo/nic/sound drivers off the cd, then the latest detonators(5200Ultra).

I rebooted.

Upon reboot, it hung again for 30 seconds, then checked for bootable cd(there was none) and proceeded to drop down to the next line on the screen and blink for about 1 minute, before saying "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

It just keeps doign that now when i turn it on ^^

Any ideas? I have tried a bunch of differet settings in BIOS, the 80gig is all alone on its own channel(primary master).

Do WD's have the "single" option for when it's alone on the channel?

It is still hanging a lot when it boots up but now after doing fixboot in the recovery console it will start windows.

Any idea to make it stop hanging?

Hey bro igowerf is on the right track, the WD's like being set to Single Drive if they're solo on their own IDE cable, which often means removing the jumper entirely (check the drive's label). Also confirm that the Shuttle's BIOS is set to boot from HDD0 or from IDE1 or whatever its scheme is for indicating "hard drive." Good luck!

I put my 2nd HDD in as slave under the problematic WD and it sloved the problem! No more hangs, works perfectly!
