Very strange problem within Windows XP

Can any of you tell me why this folder says there are files in it and I am unable to see anything even with all options to show every single file including important system files are on?

This drive is attached to my computer via an external enclosure. I'm currently doing a data backup for a friend of mine. I attempted to delete the entire temp internet folder but it said that it could not find this specified file. Now when I right click and look at the properties it shows that there are a bunch of files still in there but are unseen to me. Help?

Navigate to the directory using cmd.

And delete it in the cmd line. That usually works, but not always.
