Very strange double click error.

All of the sudden, now when I double click a file to open it it brings up the properties box. It happens on all icons (My Computer, My Documents, all folders, all files). Has anyone had this happen before? I know I didn't mess with any settings to change it, but where would I look to make sure?
I'm using a Logitech MX510 with the MouseWare drivers, but have had no problems until now. Maybe a simple reboot would help but I cant do that at the moment.
If anyone knows what the hell is going on, please post.

The mouse applet is the Logitech MouseWare applet now and the settings are correct. WinXP Home SP2.

Hmm, even when I single click on something to select it, then press the ENTER key it brings up the file properties, I'm thinking this is something besides the mouse.

NEVERMIND, a simple restart fixed the problem. I couldn't restart before because I had some downloads going. After the restart things are back to normal, that was an odd problem though.

The problem is that your keyboard controller was confused, thinking that the Alt key was stuck. If you press and release the Alt key (and the other one too, just to be sure), the controller will register the change and all will be back to normal (without restarting). When I experience strange behavior like that, I try each of the following:

Shift (both)
Ctrl (both)
Alt (both)
Win (both)
App (the context menu key)

Each arrow key.

That should do it.
