Thank you so much racolvin and OP for this. I just setup this card today and with 3 Hitachi 250's I was getting horrible throughput.
It said it was going to take almost 25 minutes for a 4gb file copy. Now down to about 4 after setting it up the way you said.
Any further advise to share? As long as my speed is about the same as a single drive or slightly greater I will be thrilled.
My main purpose is to protect 500gb's a little better then nothing. I will be adding a 4th drive as soon as ZZF gets them back in stock.
Reviews said performance goes up a good bit with 4 over 3 drives.
I almost bought the Highpoint 1820A, but even though this is a good bit older it is only a little more then that one, since LSI dropped the price.
