Around 15-20 Frames Per Second in some games, one example: Supreme Commander Demo.

My system stats:
=================================
AMD 4200+ X2 Dual Core. 2.20GHz
7900GTX Nvidia GFX Card 512MB.
2047MB Geil Ram
300GB HDD Space. 100GB used, 200GB open.
O/S: Vista Business. 32-bit.
Rating (Windows Experience Index): 4.5
3dMark05: CPU-Info
=================================
TEST RESULTS:
Stress Prime 2004 Dual Core Results
CPU-Z Statistics
Prime 95's Results

After running these tests, nothing failed I guess. Memtest86 ran fine as well. No errors. Virus detect no serious errors/spyware/malware. All checked out with 3 different programs. (Spyware Doctor, Adaware Pro, AVG-Anti Virus).

=================================
PC Pit Stop's Scan came back with this information.

When I click on the flag for my video card, PCPitstop has this to say:
7900GTX is going at: 112.3 megapixels per second - Significantly LOWER than average speed.
=================================
Window's PC scoring system: Stats. So its my RAM now? According to PC pitstop it was my video card. According to gaming: Low frames per second on games that don't require the use of all 2GB's of RAM.. I don't know whats wrong!

Update:
3DMARK2005 Stats: 7054 Marks

Looks like that graphics test measures 2D performance, which is probably why it's so much lower on Vista, since everything now has to go through the compositing engine.

Any Ideas when nVidia has drivers coming? I think this is insane, all nvidia gfx card users can't be experiencing this now.. can they?

Any other ideas?

Nvidia is getting bashed for 8800 drivers, but what about me?..

I don't know how to fix this :(

Wait for more mature drivers. Also, Supreme commander is pretty demanding so it's not suprising that you are getting poor performance.

Even with my 3dmark?? It's the LOWEST compared to 47 similar system configurations. Other vista users aren't complaining as bad as I am. Something has GOT to be wrong....

Hmmm, it does appear that something may be wrong, but I couldn't tell you exactly what?

The reason I say this is because I am running a 7950GT 512MB, which I believe is slightly lower clocked than the 7900GTX, and my 3DMark05 score was 9423. I do have a faster processor and possibly RAM (Corsair PC26400 @ 4-4-4-12), but I would think the GPU plays the biggest role in the score. Here's a link to my score for comparison (let me know if that link works, I'm not sure if I linked the correct page)

Maybe it is Vista?? I knew the performance was slower, but I didn't think the performance was that different between XP Pro and Vista, but maybe it is?

Sorry I can't be of more assistance. I just thought the comaparison of a similar card, maybe even a lower speed card, would be useful to you.

It couldn't be that big of a difference based on Vista.. I mean, theres 1000s of people with Vista, and only a few are experiencing problems. My issue seems to be huge compared to 3dmarks comparison charts with others with same or very similar configuration. I just don't understand what I can do.

Isn't 3dmark unnecessarily cpu intensive? I maybe wrong, but I think from random ramblings that this is the case. Otherwise, dunno man. Good luck. Maybe try to clean out your drivers with driver cleaner and reinstall. Also what kind of frames are you getting with other games? Acceptable? or still low? Maybe the game has specific issues with Vista.

Vista is new. The drivers are new.

Frames are OKAY in some games. But many have just insanely low FPS. The stats from the tests show it..

:( Everyone out of ideas?

Try this....http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=64936 for AMD duallies. I'd roll back to XP for now and wait for Microsoft and nVidia to clean their software up or do a dual boot system. Consider O/C'ing both cpu and gpu and tightning up your memory settings if possible. As far as nVidia vs ATI, I am totally agnostic and run both. I think your 7900 may hold it's value longer than you think especially if you put it on eBay. Probably more than 50% of hardcore gamers are young and poor and can't keep up with the newest and greatest. I'd tweak your current system to a stable max and wait till summer which is what I'm doing.
