Very slow logon, logoff windows

I just reinstalled windows xp and now every time i try to log off or log on it takes forever, during the logoff/shutdown in freezes at the "windows is saving your settings" image for a long time. Any clue what could be wrong, ive never encountered this problem before.

One thing though, I was unstalling Zonealarm Internet security and half way through i got the bluescreen of death, when i next turned on the computer and checked the "add/remove programs" Zonealarm wasnt there anymore. The computer works fine though (when actually logged on), could this have something to do with it?

I've had that problem with Zonealarm before. It could take up to 20 min. to boot up my computer. I discovered after some trial and error that if I deleted ZoneAlarm, it went back to normal. Reinstalled ZoneAlarm and it was fine after that. After an couple of updates it did it again. Uninstalled, and reinstalled and all is fine since then.

In fact when I saw your title, I thought ZoneAlarm....
