very slow boot up..whats the problem?

I have an old pc Abit BH6 + P3 500E. 3 hds (40gig master, 13gig slave, 1.2gig slave) 1 cdrw (master). It used to boot really fast but now for some reason it takes a looooonnnggg time verifying the DMI pool data...

any clue as to why it takes so long to verify? it used to not do this before.
