Basically thats all i need to know...i just want to run memtest on some ram that i have, so i was wondering what buttons i need to press in order to boot the CD....

Is it possible to boot from a CD-rw rom? I should hope so, if not i have DvD that i should be able to boot from too.

Also, if i am running Memtest, should i only run one stick at a time, or maybe run all 3 sticks that i want to test...Will it be able to differentiate between the 3? Thank you!

you need to enable booting from cd/dvd drive in BIOS and then set the boot order.

No, It won't be able to differentiate between the three sticks. So, if any one stick produces errors, you won't be able to tell which it is.

That said, you should start with all three sticks at once and hope for a good outcome. If you put one stick in at a time, be sure to use a different slot each time as well. Putting all three in one at a time into one slot won't test your other two slots.

While i'm going to sound like i know practically nothing about computers, and in a sense , my knowledge is pretty limited, i really would like one of you guys, if you could, give me a step by step deal on how to do this memtest thing.

Because i thought that i knew how to put those files on my CD's but nothing really happened when i changed the boot order to boot from the CD-rw.

When i go to Mem-test, which one do i choose.

ISO images suitable for creating a bootable Memtest86 CDROM
Download - Memtest86 v3.2 ISO image (zip)
Download - Memtest86 v3.2 ISO image (gzip)

Trust me , i would use the floppy if i had a floppy drive, but i don't, so any help you guys could give me would be great..

Like after i download, do i unzip? after i unzip do i extract? if so should i put the extracted on the disc, or everything? After that should i put it in my DvD drive , which is my primary, or run it from my secondary CD-drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much!!

You download the file. Unzip it. You will have an ISO file (fileName.iso). Open up a burning program (nero, roxio, etc) and select burn image. It will ask you to select the ISO file. THen you burn.

Alright, so after i unzip it theres a winrar archive file, do i put that on the disc? The actual file itself says it is an .iso, so should i put that one on i guess?
