Again, this is a DNS issue. Ask your ISP why your DNS is screwed up.

My DNS is not "screwed up". One single website doesn't make it "screwed up".

You don't like strangers knocking on your door, and I can understand that.

If you would like me to visit your site, please PM your IP address - I, again, understand you wouldn't want to make it a "public domain".

But I would like to stay secure, too. Hope you understand.

Thanks again!

KeyKeeper - I again apologize for trolling your thread.

Peace out!

My router doesnt return a ping and that port is probably closed but I can still get to the site without any problems. If nslookup is giving you nil then I would use a diff dns or use a proxy. Site doesnt return a ping but is still live.

You know, it's not that important at the moment.

It's like with everyone else's links to their websites, I am just curious, and it is interesting to see what other AT members have to offer/present.

Thanks again!

IP 70.242.8.31, currently. This is public information - anyone can get it just by pinging that site, which will cause a DNS lookup.

I have a feeling you are frustrated, but please don't be mad at me. This is a DNS issue. It's that simple. The fact that you can't get to one website, yes, means that DNS is screwed up. The reason I say this is that the ping *response* doesn't matter - what matters is that your computers cannot resolve 'bluescreens.livenode.com' to an IP address.

I have no idea why you keep bringing up security. Again, this has nothing to do with security or browsers - it's purely a DNS issue, unless both of your machines have some oddball filtering software on them (at the IP layer) to stop lookups of certain IP addresses, which is why I asked you what happened with your machine if you booted in safe mode with networking and tried it. Did you ever do that?

Thanks, dclive.

The IP address works.

IMHO, Safe Mode with networking is not safe (no pun intended...) with the security software off.

But it's not an issue anymore, since I can access the site.

Let me continue my educational adventure LOL.

Thanks again.

OK, I'm curious. What software is so critical it's necessary to forgo even a quick test to determine the core problem? As long as you're behind a router and don't check e-mail for a few minutes, you'll be fine without any security software - just don't go to any porn/etc. sites and the risk is very, very minimal with straight surfing and an XP SP2 (or even more so, Vista) box.
