Very quiet EVGA 8800 GTX fan?

I have an EVGA 8800 GTX, and the fan is extremely quiet and sort of appears to move slow (but I'm not sure). I can't feel much air coming from the rear vents either. Games seem to play OK but I haven't played too long.

Does anyone know, are they supposed to be this silent without so much air coming from the back? Does it have auto speed control by default?

My card is EVGA e-GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 768-P2-N831-AR.

The fan is operating at 60% speed. You can use a third party utility to adjust the fan setting but I like not being able to hear it running

I always assumed it was thermally controlled. The fan on mine is near silent which I think is awesome.

use ATI tool to scan for articacts and see if its running at a decent temperature with the scan for artifact function under load.
