very quick YACT: how to remove the PCV?

the PCV on the intake manifold seems a bit too soft and fragile, do I just yank it out by not-so-brute force; and then push it back in for re-installation?
i just need to do a test on it.

UPDATE: I just bought one from Autozone for 1.99; its made by Deustch. When I did the blow test on the old '200k miles'-ed one, the flow is more restricted compare to the new one. So i pop the old one back in. I don't think they will let me return the Deustch one since I opened the package already. oh well, a 2 dollar lesson is cheap to learn.
btw: the OEM one is $8.17

Yeah, If you pull the right direction. Sometimes it will break even if you do it right but that just means it's time for a new one anyway.

It will most likely just yank out. Go buy one and replace it, then you'll see how it comes out. May as well replace it because they're very cheap for how important they are.

mine's pull off on the intake manifold and clamped on the hose. if you have to replace it, go with oem. i tried one of those parts in the auto store and it fell apart when i tried to push it in.

I am getting a new one then... I though it would cost like a O2 sensor... phew.

no, they are cheap. just pull it off and clean it. then blow into it on both sides. it should only allow the air to go one direction.

I tried this on mine and it sheared off. Fortunately there's about 180 degrees of thread left on the bit that came away, so I can sort of reinstall it.

What do I do now? Do I drill it out? Or, do I accept that as it is now working after a good clean - that it can stay as it is and I deny all knowledge.
