I installed Windows 11 22H2 update when it came out back in September. As soon as I updated, I noticed that the overall performance of the computer plummeted. Opening windows, scrolling web pages... everything. The acid test was the games. It is not that there has been a drastic decrease in FPS, but rather that every X time (between 5 and 10 seconds) the game use to drops FPS. For example, in Sekiro, which is limited to 60 FPS, before the update it never dropped below 60; right after update it still goes to 60, but every X seconds it hits a FPS drop that lasts a second or two and goes to 15 or 20 FPS. It does this constantly, every few seconds.
It was said at the time that it was a problem with the Nvidia drivers and that new ones had been released that corrected the problem. I installed them but everything remained the same. Finally, I reverted the update back to Windows 11 21H2 version and everything was fixed. Smoothness on the desktop, on the web, and stability in games returned.
Today I did the test again. I have reinstalled 22H2 to see if the problem was corrected with a patch, but everything is still exactly the same.
My computer:
AMD Ryzen 3800X
Mainboard Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite
Gigabyte RTX 3080 Vision
16 GB RAM (8x2).
I have updated the motherboard BIOS, graphics drivers and AMD chipset drivers with no positive results.
I have made a couple of videos with the cellphone that I have uploaded to YouTube. Both are from the same sequence in the Sekiro game: the character sits on one of the idols and rests, in that moment, we can see an animation with some "sparks" floating. The first video is with version 21H2 just before updating Windows and the second video is just after updating to 22H2. That slowdown and drop in FPS that you see in the second one is CONSTANT, every 5 or 10 seconds, in all games and even during regular use of the computer, watching videos or browsing the internet:
21H2:
22H2:
It happens to someone else? Do you give me any advice?
Thank you very much (and sorry about my english, i'm from Spain).
