VERY poor performance w/ XP333 mobo and Geforce 4400

Hey-
I bought a leadtek Geforce 4 4400 and installed in on my epox mobo and everything seemed fine. 3dmark2k1 gave me around 10000 3dmarks (running on an xp2000+)
Using the results browser, this seemed about right.

However, I switched to an Iwill XP333 mobo (epox died on me) and suddenly stuff started running like crap. My 3dmark score is now about 6000
I have gotten the newest bios, installed the newest AGP drivers etc, tried different vid card drivers. It is running at 4x AGP speed, not sure whats wrong.
One test in particular that just chugged in 3dmark 2k1 is the vertex shader test (the one with the bunch of matrix guys shooting each other on a bare floor, I get 11FPS)
The rest of the tests also suffered around a 20fps drop or more.
I have tried changing features in the bios, nothing seems to help though.
LMK if you have any ideas of what could be wrong.
oh yeah, running WinXP, 512 RAM, SB Live Audigy

Thanks guys

quick update, just found out that if I disable hardware T&L then the vertex shader test runs smoothly....
WTF is wrong??!

Doesn't your new board use an ALi chipset? ALi isn't famous for speed, or anything good, for that matter.

Did you reformat or reinstall windows when you swapped motherboards? If you didn't, Windows might be messed up severely.

Disabling hardware T&L lessens the traffic over the AGP bus, which can help in some tests if its saturated. I had a similar problem on an old Socket 7 MVP3 board.

download rivatuner
go to power user
open the closest detonator driver to yours
go to system, scroll down a little bit

enable these:

DisableAGPFWConnect
EnableAGPFW
EnableALiAGP

This will fix your speed and give you 10k

Will do Furor, and if that works, you are THE MAN! =)
Tanked- Yeah, it is based on an Ali chipset, but if you read anands kt266 roundup, he does review the Iwill board and it performs quite well. And I did reformat after swapin boards out.

wooohooo =)
Man, I didnt think I would get this problem solved so quickly- Thanks again Furor.
about 700points lower, but thats MUCH better than before, and is probably just because of the mobo/un-tweaked system.

yep..the xp333 can usually come within 1% of the kt266a 3d performance..try enabling the side band adressing and FWStrap..I can't remember the extact names but they are something like EnableSideBand or EnableSBA and EnableAGPFWStrap

If you know how to mess with WPCREDIT, try using these values

7B = 7F
7D = 41
63 = 35
8B = 30

oh yeah, either of these may make windows crash in games, if it does just disable it..some cards can't handle one, some can handle both..
