Very long delay between bootlogo screen & login screen

AFB

Lifer
New motherboard(Abit NF7-S2) and a fresh XP pro install. All new drivers intalled. Same problem before I installed them. I restart or cold boot and I get the boot logo which lasts about 2 seconds (literally) and then it goes to black and just sits there for about two minutes. Very little if any hard drive activity if any. After about two minutes, it boots fine.

Any indeas?

What other things do you have attached?... that would help a lot

I got my boot much faster by disabling SATA and RAID ports I don't use... also I disabled boot from LAN. Most of the time when that happens it's searching for drives that aren't there.

Configure on a domain or not? Do you have a DHCP server on the network (are there any net conection that the system might think or active that really aren't?)

Will try that. I currently have a USB hum with a printer (uninstalled), Key board, Finger printer reader, and a Mouse.
