I hate executive orders/memos with a passion. Completely undermines the whole idea behind branches of government.

I'm not Obama's biggest fan but sheer numbers say nothing. One "terrorist torture authorization memo" would trump 1,000 "give federal employees the day off" memos. With that said, however, it does highlight his tendency to think he's above working and compromising with Congress and decides to just "do it himself" when that's really not how the branches are designed to work together. It's one thing when a POTUS gripes about Congress privately, and another when he tries to go around them completely for everything he does.

You can dance around the definition of rape, torture, racism and even slavery (i.e. it's state's rights),.. but, don't you DARE dance around how to get shit done in politics.

Fucking idiots!

While it's OK for you to have and express an opinion, I don't feel it's right for you to consistently insult members of this forum. Do you understand that, ass hole? ;)

I am ok with it. It's perfectly within his power to do so. On the other hand it's just one more in a long list of crap he campaigned against doing and once in office pulled a 180. If he has stuck to his guns you would be hearing songs of praise, instead we hear the usual But Buuuuuuuush....

Fucking idiots!

You are truly in the Christmas spirit now.

Hope that doesn't offend you in any way. I didn't write the article, is it OK with you that I shared it....I neglected to ask for your permission? Why don't you read the article instead spewing your usual attacks.

Your consistent demeanor truly speaks volumes of your character. I'm guessing you're not so enthusiastic with your ample use of slander in real life. What is wrong with you?

Funny that nobody has invoked that name other than the two of you. Is this some sort of pre-emptive denial, or what?

I do too. I would hate to try to be the President of a country badly in need of leadership and have an insane congress try to block everything that needs doing. I have a very low tolerance for assholes that intentionally block my way.

The Republican party is suffering from a mental disease. But then, perhaps you didn't know.

Actually I read the article, I read it the first time matt1970 posted it;) I also call it like I see it. Your title is, "very interesting article regarding executive memos", your post however doesn't state what you find interesting about it and only summarizes (another name for regurgitate) what the author was implying. So my post was in no way inaccurate.

Your are easily mislead and easily fooled by partisan trash with anything that reinforces your beliefs, I just call you on it;)

Your take on my characters only means two things to me... Jack shit!

Haha you can pretty much say anything in P&N no matter how vulgar. I believe the only threads and posts that get moderated here are if you post anything that relates to race and iq studies.

The Republican party is suffering from a mental disease. But then, perhaps you didn't know.

Even so, no actions of theirs justify the removal of the three branch checks and balances system. Advocating so is evidence of a far more severe mental disease anyway. Whatever you think justifies Obama's actions and the effects of them, imagine the next yet more ruthless Dick Cheney in the West Wing operating under Obama rules AND plenty of precedent.

Your childish need to lord over the R's and squish them via executive ink is nothing compared to the future of this country and and what an executive order / memoranda system could mean to that in the wrong hands.

History will take care of the r's, worry about the future of our country for once. And no, that isn't the same thing.

Tis not the number of executive actions, but the level of damage they do that should be being discussed here. Obama is pretty much handing over our country, giving up the reins to those who would cause great harm. Maybe the oath of a president should be like that of a doctor......to do no harm. America, it's values, founding principles and finances are being stripped by the Washington elites. I can't lay this all on Obama. Isn't it time for us, as citizens to be responsible enough to quit allowing them to do what they are doing? They are supposed to work for us, for our country, not destroy it from the inside out.

What the nation should be paying very close attention to is not what Obama is doing and the method with which he is doing it, but what Congress and our Judicial system are doing to counter his executive orders and memos. Keep your eye focused on that.

We have three branches of government. The system is designed such that one cannot have a monopoly on power. Right now we have a President who is doing things counter to the wishes of the people he represents. Polling shows this. This is where the other two branches of government step in and put a stop to it. Are they or are they complicit or even just acquiescing?

compuwiz1 has got it right. Do we want our system of governance to be turned upside down? That's a rhetorical question because the answer is that the majority don't care and/or are too uneducated to even understand. The .gov has been in the bread and circus business for a long enough time to put us over the tipping point. To ensure the success of the process, the .gov, under executive order, will caress tens of millions of illegals with the Bill of Rights to seal the deal.

The fundamental transformation is on the final approach to completion and it has happened right under our noses. He told us he was going to do it. Congress decided to go along, the SCOTUS did too and the people are too dependent on the latest government handout to do anything more than respond to a poll.

Obama certainly isn't the first president to utilize but it seems he is wearing out the process according to the story.

wearing out the process. As usual, bullshit!
