I don't think "flat glass" is the same as "true flat" monitors.

Just a flat glass in front of a slightly curved display I'd bet.

If that is what it is then no thx.

Ok so it is flat screen, not flat glass, like it was listed as in your original post......but still, it is an Envision monitor.

I don't know how there quality is now, but about 2 years ago I bought a 19" monitor from Staples that was an envision with a nice feature set and a single knob for configuring the display. I got it home and the colors were off at different parts of the screen. Tried a diff vid card to see if that was a prob, made sure nothing magnetic was near the monitor, and degaussed it but it still was VERY uneven color.

The price is good but if you get one I'd have the manager demo it for you to make sure the color is good and save you a trip back to return it.

Thanks for the post!! Don't be discouraged by a lot of the negativity, all deals are appreciated!!

I own one of the 17" and one of the 19". Though they are not "top of line" monitors, they do the job very nicely!!!!

LOL--don't worry. Thanks for pointing out a nice deal. If you activate your ratings in your profile, I might even give you a high score. :D

BTW: Are these "brandless" monitors? If not, what brand? Someone mentioned Envision . . .

This could be getting cold. There seems to be an absence of any curent/valid $30 off $150 coupons. The last good one I found (@FW) expired yesterday.

Winzonly-

I wasn't trying to crap on your thread, in fact I appreciate you listing it. (that's why I clicked on it at first to check it out)

I was just trying to make sure you or others were getting what you thought you were. So no harm meant.

Price is good, but it seems resolution is a little too low for a 17-inch (max 1024x768).

my envision is like that. pissed me off... but it was cheap at the time, so as long as u keep a grey background, it's fine. darker backgrounds (like black) will show a reflection of the icons off the glass.

Thanks for the deal.

Just a word of caution on the Envision 17" "flat-screen". I bought 2 and a friend bought 2 on "Black Friday". They were Model 775e, which is the same as what they are offering this time, I believe. The glass does appear to be pretty flat but does not seem to have any "anti-reflective" qualities.

However, a couple things to note. The monitor case is Silver and Black. That just happens to match my case, but probably won't for many people, if that is a concern.

More importantly, IMHO, the quality of the picture is sub-standard on that model (EN-775e). All 4 of our monitors have purity issues and the picture seems slightly out of focus and "washed out" no matter what combination of Contrast & Brightness levels we have tried.

Over the past few months I have purchased 18 of the Envision 17" En-710e's and 3 of the 19" EN-910e's (Both have beige cases) and the pictures have been outstanding on all of the 20 units. They are not "flat screens".

I have also purchased 2 of the Envision 15" LCD monitors. One blew up after a couple months and the other keeps plugging along.

So, in my opinion, Envision makes a solid monitor for the price. Just not sure about the quality of the EN-775e.

Good luck.
