I let them know that their sales team needs a lot of work but also let them know that I can forgive them for that. Now, if it turns out their service just plainly sucks or downgrades because they filled their capacity with this sale, that would be a huge mistake on their part.

If they know that signup processing would be delayed because of this, the LEAST they could do is go ahead and send everyone an email awaiting a response from signing up.

I did get an initial confirmation email from them within 5 minutes after I placed the order. This was the morning of the last day of the promo.

Since then, I haven't got anything. I'll be a bit more skeptical if I don't get anything by Monday at the latest.

You are willing to wait around until Monday?

Wow. I ordered Monday 11pm. Been 64 since I ordered. I've updated one of my sales tickets tuesday night and they still haven't got back to me. It seems as if they are trying to leave us in the dark in hopes that people will cancel before their orders are processed. I can not believe that Viatalk (HostRocket also) is so disorganized with this promotion.

I am in the same boat. I got the confirmation Email and nothing since then. My credit card has not been charged. I don't want to call to check because I don't have an hour to spend on hold. I don't mind waiting a little bit but if they don't honor the deal I'll be pretty pissed.

SWEET!!!!!!!!! Just got an Email...

Subject: ViaTalk LLC has sent you a package!

Hope all those waiting get their Email today as well.

My only question is, what is my ViaTalk Client ID? I have the form to transfer my number but it requires that and I don't know what it is. Can't find it on my Account page either.

EDIT: Anyone else having problems getting to ViaTalk's page? I was able to log in and change my password but when trying to look around on their page I'm getting timeouts now. Oh, and their page is *SLOW*. Hope I don't have to use it much... :-/

Haven't got my shipment confirmation yet. When did you submit your order? Maybe your client ID will come with the package.

Well still haven't recieved anything so I'm growing a bit apprehensive. I was able to get right through this morning with the online chat thing and they just said they are backed up with orders...we'll process your order as soon as possible..blah blah blah.

I'll wait it out another day or two and then cancel if nothing develops.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Didn't notice this thread was updated. I believe I ordered the first day of the posting (4/24).

Got my ViaTalk package yesterday. Plugged it into my Linksys WRT54G (DDWRT Firmware) and it was online almost instantly. I thought, it can't be up that quick can it? Sure enough - dial tone. Nice! I have only called my cell phone so far but incoming and outgoing calls work fine. The incoming CallerID from my cell to ViaTalk displayed my name and number. Outbound CallerID displayed only my number when I called my cell from ViaTalk. I left a test voicemail and I received it in Email shortly after (I have the message forwarding setup). So far this is pretty impressive.

FYI to those who are porting phone numbers...

If you're required to fill out and fax a 'Letter of Authorization' to ViaTalk you will need to call them to get your ViaTalk Client ID and prove you are who you say you are (he asked me first/last name & last 4 digits of my CC number used to sign up). Before I called I searched my account page and Emails from ViaTalk and never found my Client ID listed anywhere. I asked him if there was any other way to get it and he said no.

Edit: Just filled out and faxed my info. I will report back for status updates.

Well finally got my charge confirmation. Took just about exactly two weeks. Now we'll see if and when I get the equipment!

Because when you totally ditch your landline and cellphone and depend on VOIP you want to be able to talk to people who don't carry around a wifi enabled laptop with them everywhere they go.

I've been on packet8 for a year and a half. Tried Sunrocket and learned of it's bad quality. I wanted to try Via Talk on this promotion, but missed it because they ended it 24 hours earlier than I thought they were... Trust me, when you can pay $100 per year for all your phone bills, that's not bad considering most people with cellphones pay $50-70 per month and even more when they blab over their minutes.

Anyone else have static on the line today? Tried bouncing my Linksys adapter and still get static. I've had the occasional call with 'echo' lately as well. Still, for $8.29/month I'm not going to bitch much! ;)

Just hooked mine up yesterday. So far, its been good, but I haven't messed with any of the features yet; just made a few phone calls. I was surprised how easy it was to hook up. There wasn't any software to install..just plug it in and you're good to go.

As for static, haven't noticed anything yet, but I'm willing to deal with a few minor issues for only $8/month like Robor said.
