I finished my new system, and I ran 3dmark2000, to say the least, I am very dissapointed.. I only scored `4217`. I compared my results to others with almost the exact same system, and most of them were double!!! I'm just now wondering something...I picked AMD 3d-NOW instead of D3D Hardware T&L.. would this make a big difference? everyone that I'm comparing my results to has used D3D hardware T&L. Can you guys give me a few suggestions on how I can get my system running better? Here are the specs:

AMD Thunderbird 800
Abit KT-7 Raid
256 PC-133 Ram
IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30gig ATA100 HDD
Asus V7700 GeForce II GTS 64
Windows ME
Direct X 8.0
Latest Nvidia Detenator Drivers

I have defraged my computer, tried using swap files, overclocked the video card a bit.. and i'm still not getting any results.. is it because I picked AMD 3d-NOW instead of D3D? or possibly DX 8.0 or the Detenator Drivers? Please help

Thanks,

So should make a big difference?.. does that mean that it wasn't useing the hardware on the card at all?

It is a demo anyways. It does not actually tell you system performance. This demo is just for bragging rights.

Fire up UT or Quake 3 or any newer game at 32 bit color and set details levels to max. That will tell you your system performance.
