well supposedly theres a 1st series..and the 2nd series which we all know and love. i've recently been watching the 89-92...its more like fifth gear in its first incarnation. even has tiff. early on clarkson didn't show up much, he was like the young reporter..but he seems to get more airtime as it goes along, he has his dstinct style. not sure if theres a gap between the two series. but from what i can see so far, its like they just went with clarksons style the second time around. much of the 1st series is horribly boring.

actually that's the top gear series that has teh very first jeremy clarkson i believe.. tiff needles was on in 1988.. i remember that one cause i used to watch topgear.

in anycase top gear has been around since the 50's or 60's.. thats not the first top gear series video.
