0_o. I don't see how that's possible. If it is that is awesome. I can't see the plastic on a ball warping like that without breaking though.

That's fake. Imagine how hard you would have to hit a solid object in order for it to do that.

in the comments, they said it was struck at 150mph. tiger woods can hit it around 130 or so. so it would take a superhuman to strike it that hard

Well, it's not being struck. It appears as if it were shot at a metal surface, and it ricocheted back.

If indeed that is real, that is what happened.

But I cannot imagine the surface of the ball being able to survive that level of deformation.

Our eye most certainly does not see how much objects deform when they are struck, as many objects deform insanely but return to their normal state almost instantly.

If that is real, I wonder if that ball proceeded to shatter.

"Tiger woods can hit up to 130mph."
"DAMN. That's a lot of Milfs per hour!"

LMAO

Interesting.

These guys did a similar test, at speeds of up to 137 mph with a 100 kfps camera. They didn't record anywhere near that degree of flattening.

hmmmmm mebbe a different type of golf ball is used? in that paper, it is deformed not nearly as much.

Don't know if that was legit or not, but some things can bend beyond expectations. Perhaps y'all seen video of that Russian bridge? That was bending in a very extreme manner, I expected to see parts of Road Surface flying off at least, but it remained intact.

What was the temperature of the ball?

High speed allows you to see things that happen so fast that in real time your eyes don't catch it. A person getting slapped in the face recorded at 10,000 fps makes their skin look like a shirt flapping in the wind...

I guess if you put a camera over the bed fps could be faps per second.

Ever hear of a streak camera? ;)
