My main box (which I'm pretty proud of) has the following specs:
Athlon64 3800+ 939 Newcastle
MSI K8N Neo2
2x 1gb Wintec memory
BFG GeForce 6800 Ultra w/ 66.93 drivers
WD Raptor HD
Thermaltake 560W P/S
This system scored about 4600 in 3DMark05
Now...another system I just got done building just as a backup machine has the following:
Athlon64 3400+ s754
Abit KV80 (microATX)
512mb corsair value
ATI X800XT w/ cat 5.5
regular 120gb wd ide hdd
THIS "little" system gets 5645! WTF is that about?
I'm starting to have my doubts about the memory in the big box because I can't think of anything else that would create such a disparity between the systems...I mean, on paper, the big box should smoke the little one but alas, it is not the case.
I know that 3dMark means nothing as a synthetic benchmark, but I think it's useful for certain things and in this case, I think it's pointing out I have an issue
any thoughts?
