VERY complicated outlook problem dealing with multiple computers

ok before i begin with my problem let me tell you the goal:
the goal is to have 2 computers sync outlook (contacts, emails, calender etc..) over the internet. so, if there is 1 laptop at work and 1 at home if anything is changed they sync so that both computers are identical. also, both computers must be able to receive and send email. the syncing software we use deletes duplicates automatically.

to do this we are using program called osasync. now this software is pretty much made for a network and not for the internet. so we decided to use a program called hamachi which makes a virtual network for any computer connected to the internet. believe it or not the syncing between outlook accounts works amazingly. here is where we run into the problem. the main computer's outlook sending and receiving function works everytime. the laptop however can only receive email and not send it. when i try to send a test email i get this: "Unable to send test Message. Please verify the E-mail Address field." keep in mind address is written corectly and this was working at one point. the laptop that isnt working has mcafee security center and that generates a protocol error. i disabled everything in mcafee and email still won't go out. what is going on?

again we tried the same process this time with a gmail account between 2 different computers. the syncing works great, however if i open outlook on one computer and send/receive the other computer won't do anything in the email. if i turn the other computer off and restart the one i want to work all of a sudden email works. problems related?

ive looked up some information and it may have something to do with ingoing outgoing email servers or something i dunno. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA? IM LOST

You most likely need to authenticate the outgoing smtp server or just use the ISP's smtp server for the computer having problems. It is off network and doesn't like you using their smtp server.

Yes, use imap...

Complicated setups just lead to headaches... if you need the calendar can you use Exchange?

but he can put it all on exchange, then it will sync without all that other crap

It sounds like you need to change outgoing mail server for the laptop. It would need to be the SMTP svr of the ISP your connected to.
At least that's what I would try first.
