VERY chapped lips - What do you use?

My lips have been uncomfortably dry and chapped for a while now. I've used Chap Stick Medicated and just now added Vaseline to the mix. While Vaseline does work, it wears out within 30-45 minutes. This is really annoying and would like to get over this as soon as possible.

Any suggestions?

thanks

I use Carmex. It's always done a better job than Chapstick for me. It seems to be better at actually healing the lips as opposed to just moisturizing them.

blistex > * ... make sure you get the one thats NOT in the stick, that is the liquid form. that stuff works WONDERS for me in the winter. i can go to sleep with VERY chapped lips, put some on before i hit the sack, wake up and they are probably %75 better.

Put a smear of fecal material around your lips, it'll stop you from licking them...

Barring that, drink more water & use a petrolium based lube like vasoline, carmex, etc.

I always thought that Carmex wasn't good for your lips because it contained some type of acid that made it harder for your lips to heal themselves, urban legend?

Edit: it was an urban legend

what i would do, and have do is this... take a soft bristled toothbrush in the shower with you as well as vasoline.
when the shower is nice and warm, wet the toothbrush and gently buff your lips with the bristles. make sure you use a swirling motion on your lips and be gentle. do this at the begining of the shower. then after that, put the vasoline on and keep in on for the entire shower. this should work quite well and is cheap and easy.
if that doesnt work, and they are getting bad, call a dermatologist and get something better.

Avoid Chapstick! It makes them worse!

Drink lots of water, very important. Get used to putting Vaseline on every half hour, it does really work.

The blistex liquid is also very good, if you can't handle the vaseline deal.

i do something similar... i just use a towel and rub em til they're smooth, then add something that'll tingle so as to remind me to reapply.

oh yeah... stop sucking so much c0ck, dude!
