Very Basic Question...New M/B, reload OS etc???

Is it safe to assume that when I upgrade my M/B and CPU that I will need to reload my OS software etc???

I know its a basic question but had to ask anyway.....

That's something a lot of folks overlook and then run into trouble. It's always good to do a good, clean install of Windows after a major component change...:)

Some people have managed to get XP to detect their new hardware and run okay. Most people have done a clean install for a smooth running system AFAIK.

In general, if you change chipsets ie... via, nforce, sis, you will definately need to re-install your operating system. Say going from one kt266 board to another will more than likely not require re-installation.
