Hi

I have a core 2 duo processor, when I look at under the general tab of system properties in windows xp, it says core 2 cpu 1.86GHz, and on the next line says 1.58GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM

whats that supposed to mean?? i know thats the speed of the two individual processors, but why is the other one running at 1.58??! i've changed nothing in the settings or anything.... just an average desktop user.

Just curious...
thanks...

the 1.86 is the max cpu speed where as the other is the current running speed at because of intel speed step which changes the speed depending on load
