Very basic, But very important, OC'ing question.

What do I do if I set the multiplyer too high and the system doesn't post? How do I get back to where I can see the menu in order to adjust it down?

Some boards like most from Asus will automatically reset themselves to a "safe" fsb speed and voltage after a failed attempt like that. If your board lacks this feature you can always clear the CMOS to restore the settings, either by shorting a jumper or removing the CMOS battery itself.

On an recent Abit board you can hold down the "ins" key while booting and it will reset the CPU related settings to default.

.....and, on an Abit board, if the ?INS? key doesn?t work, just shut down and restart about 3 or 4 times. That'll bring it back with default settings. The third time always worked for me ( never understood 'why' that worked, but it does ).
