Very basic athlon question

anomaly

Senior member
I know this is gonna be very basic, but I really don't know. I pulled an 850 T-Bird out of a system and I don't know if it's locked or unlocked. How do I tell?

Put it back in the system, boot up and go into the BIOS, and try to change the multiplier settings. If you can, it's unlocked.

was it socket or slot?
(i cant remember atm 😉)

if its socket , look at the L1 bridges, are they all connected? (either factory connected or someone else connected them using conductive paint/graphite)
if yes, its unlocked
if not, its not unlocked

if its a slot, id ont kow
