How many did you have?

I had the Battlestar Galactica Viper toy when I was a kid. A couple in fact. Can't say I ever wanted to wrap my mouth around one and fire the missile though. I remember my mother taking away the missiles to the Vipers though after the story of the kid choking on one came out.

Also had Lawn Darts but never played with them.

My neice had the EZ-Bake Oven.

I wish I had been around for the Johnny Reb Cannon though. Not because I'm a Dixie-lovin Redneck but because who the hell wouldn't want to have a canon?

"Curious tykes who licked the balls enjoyed the effects of date-rape" Aquadots sound pretty bad.

Jarts. Its seemed like such a good idea. A game for the entire family and a hit a BBQs after some beer.

Holy crap, Radar is a real magazine? I have a subscription to it that I got for literally 20 Rewards Points from my credit card. I've never met a single other person who's ever heard of it, I was beginning to think I made it up in my crazy little brain.

I had the creepy crawlers factory, and I definitely ate several of the bugs. Good to hear 18 years later that they were toxic!

edit:

Eager youngsters who gunned the throttle found that it often stayed gunned, stuck in a petrifying state of perma-acceleration. Presumably, the child on the motorcycle was then taken on a hellish, intestine-twisting scream ride. At one point, he or she would face choices unthinkable except in an Evel Knievel-meets-Knight Rider crossover episode: Do I jump? Or do I ride it out and see if I can clear the gully? Is it sentient? Can it be reasoned with?

Heh heh, awesome. Wish I'd had one of those.

Never had any of those. Closest thing was a Power Wheels but it was a 4x4 and not the motorcycle. And that thing fucking ruled.

Now how the f did I not hear about these Aqua Dots before they were discontinued? I would've bought a ton of those things.

I also remember a toy blowgun that we all loved to play with in the early 80s. Problem was kids kept hurting other kids and inhaling the blowdarts when they put it up to their mouth to take a big breath to blow the dart. good times...good times.

I still have 2 sets of Jarts. They're great as long as you're not an idiot. The things have been heavily used at every picnic since I was a kid and nobody has been close to getting impaled.

BOOOO, if you look I am sure you can find someone online still peddling their inventory.
If he can find some chick that will lick his (AquaDot) balls I don't think he needs a date rape drug.

LOL, the Jarts were the best. I remember trying to clear the house with them. Of course you had to have a spotter on the other side.

we had lawn darts growing up. i loved it! sure it was not safe but it was fun.

my daughter had the ez-bake oven. got it for her last christmas. they put it on recall right after i got it. My daughter never go to use it. it took another 7 months to get the box to send it back. they did send me a GIFT CARD (to hasbro.com) for $32. they now have one for sale on the sight but its in backorder.

got the damn thing a year ago and my daughter has yet to make a damn cookie.

3 in that group and a lot more that aren't. How could they leave off Jensen steam engines, Chemistry sets, Vac-U-Forms, and a host of other toys I played with as a kid.

I loved all the chemistry sets. I mean you got to play with a bunsen burner, alcohol, melt and bend glass to make distillation. One of the coolest toys out there.

Not only that there were certain chemicals with red skull and crossbones. Those of course were immediately the chemicals you started playing with first. The ones that said do not mix with others? Yeah, you started mixing them right away just hoping for some cool reaction/explosion.

And there was the ever popular "kitty gas" when you melted sulfur in a test tube.
