Very annoying Santa Cruz 5.1 problem (anyone else?)

Just wondering if anyone else running a Santa Cruz with a set of 5.1 speakers is experiencing this very annoying glitch. Whenever I reboot, virtual 5.1 support is disabled. I have to manually enable each time after I restart in order to get the center speaker working. At first I thought it was an application like WinAmp or something reseting the channels at bootup, but I've already check and nothing that effects the sound card is run at startup time. I've never used anything else but the current 4161s for WinXP. As far as I can remember, it started about 2 or 3 months ago and the system has since gone through two, clean reinstalls of the OS. It never used to do this before. The only thing that I can think of is that it started behaving this way sometime around the time that I installed sp1 for WinXP, but I'm not sure.
