I have not even had this new BenQ 20.1 LCD a week and I woke up this morning to a thin (about one or so pixels) vertical line running the entire height of the screen. I have power cycled everything, but no luck. Do I need to contact NewEgg about a replacement?

Well, NewEgg does not have anything to do with an LCD after you buy it, no refunds, even. So, I have to deal with BenQ directly, and they will send me a refurb. Fantastic. Bought a brand new monitor last week, already kicked down to a refurb this week.

And yes, that sounds like a defective unit.

Actually, BenQ != Acer... Both are A-Grade OEM's.. I would have no problems buying either over a Dell. Especially since BenQ's warranty is top notch.

And yes, purple line = bad pixel driver for that row. I had the same thing happen to my first gateway 2185FPW, except it was green.

No matter what they say, retailers are still responsible for selling you working merchandise. Sure, they try to shift RMA procedures to the manufacturers, but ultimately, the deal is between you and the retailer.

I agree, Acer is top notch stuff, I use their LCDs all over my workplace, and all of them are solid performers.

My company went to ACER notebooks, and so far they have been much better than previous Toshiba and SONY laptops we used to buy. Do you have any examples of why ACER is so bad? We had to send 7 Toshiba laptops back for repair due to overheating problems - no problems with the ACER laptops.
