I just purchased a brand new Samsung Syncmaster 243T 24" LCD.
It has two faint dark lines right down the middle of the display. They are about .5 inches apart.
You only see them against darker colors, such as blue or dark grey. You do NOT see them against lighter colors such as white.
I did not notice these 2 lines until the monitor has been initially used for 4-5 hours. Maybe they were they, but I just didn't notice.
I have tried the latest nvidia drivers and the driver that came with the Synmaster for the LCD.
I have tried connected to a completely different PC with the same problem.
Tried setting every display resolution from 800x600 to 1920x1200.
It this a problem with the monitor or the way it is designed. I know old CRT monitors used to have a "wire" that ran down the back of the monitor that you could see. I didn't think LCDs have that issue.
Could it be the nvidia brand of cards? Bad LCD monitor?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
