Crazy beautiful.

I'm spending a week in a friend's condo near Ludlow.

I could easily live here all year.

Pics when I come back.

I felt the same when I went to Maine.

Vermont is wonderful. I live there (here?), and often forget just how wonderful it is ... I take too much for granted. I love the beauty, the rural-ness, the trees everywhere, and the political views of most people here. I <3 Vermont!

Edit: Oh, and Vermont maple syrup is cheaper in joblot in Rhode Island than in Vermont (for whoever it was that wanted the syrup).

The one thing I can't stand is that everyone is a BoSox fan. 😀

Vermont is one of only two states that allows ANY law abiding citizen to carry a concealed weapon with no permit required to do so.

It also enjoys one of the lowest crime and murder rates in the country.

Coincidence? Not a chance.

I think the real reason for the lower crime rate has more to do with it being mostly rural with an educated populace.

I lived in Sugarbush and Killington for a few ski seasons. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It is such a nice place to live. I would like to retire near Burlington someday...

winter's suck 🙁

I've been to Killington in the winter... it certainly didn't suck!
It sure beat the hell out of Mountain Creek. 😀

it's all fun and games till you've got to dig your car out from under 3' of snow at 5 am and then drive to work on a road that's a sheet of ice 😛
In May.

Vermont is quite nice as well though. I think we could agree to say Maine & Vermont are both great 😛

Yeah, I spent some time in Maine a couple of years ago. Also great.

I have friends who have a house + guest house on Mt. Ellen. Right next to a ski slope (as in the entrance to the slopes is at the bottom of their drive way). Free housing and a short walk to the slopes. 🙂

EDIT: Also forgot to mention they have a kegarator!

Oh no. Didn't you hear Sarah Brady? If you allow the unwashed masses to carry guns, we will revert back to the "wild west" with people shooting each other willy nilly.

Lived here all my life! Grew up in the sticks (Wells, Poultney area) and now I live in Burlington. Vermont definitely rocks. After all this time here, I can easily deal with the winters... with my snowboard 😀 The summers are absolutely perfect, especially being so close to Lake Champlain.

Hey Bob Bitchin, why not stick to the thread you already created to discuss this subject?

Okie Dokie, Willy Whiny.

BTW, which thread was that?

Anyhow, I pointed out why I thought Vermont was a great state.

He's likely talking about the thread discussing the laws that allow you to shoot your neighbor in an argument 😛

Ever been there? I mean it is a great state but I can say that from having been there. I also like New Hampshire. Never been to Maine but a lot of Massholes say it's also a great place.

No, they allow you to shoot your neighbor when he threatens your body or property. 😛

Or at least claim he did (and it helps to be an ex-cop so you get the benefit of the doubt even if you are lying through your teeth).

Oh yeah, and Vermont is awesome! 😉

Yeah, I love Vermont and all, but I like Maine and New Hampshire a lot as well.
