Verizon's wireless mobile internet

Anyone have any experience with verizon's mobile internet? Is it reliable? How are the speeds? What about in remote areas? Should we wait for WiMax, or is that far away enough that a 2yr contract won't be annoying? Or is there a 1yr contract they don't talk about?

They adverstise $59.99, but knowing telecoms there are a ton of other fees, so I'm wondering what your true monthly cost is. We are trying to compare this to the $40/mo we are currently paying for wireless hot spots.

The big question: If you get two of these wireless pc cards, can two people use the account? Of course both of you can't log in at the same time, but one at a time?

Thanks for you input!

It all depends on where you are. If you are in a Verizon covered area, you are golden. If not - patience. Someone will come along and compete for your hard earned bucks.

Doesn't Verizon have coverage maps of that service across the USA?

Verizon has a map of all their EVDO Broadband Access capable areas across the country on their website. Remote areas will most likely be unable to get the service, as it seems that Verizon's 60 largest metropolitan areas were the first to receive it. You need to go on their website and read the fine print, see what is allowed and what isn't, and do the research that way. It is all their, as I myself went through the information a few weeks ago when I was thinking about getting it, but found it wasn't available in my area.
