I have to decide on one or another soon, I was thinking about getting the XV6800 but only if it will be around 100 dollars after using my credit, I have tried the LG ENV, it's not the best but it's a pretty good phone. I don't know if I should just get an ENV or buy the XV6800 if it ever becomes available. I'm not to sure about how usefull the XV6800 would be for playing music and I don't have the first clue about which games could be put onto it.
The thing is I have to upgrade soon and I don't know if I'll be able to preorder it and be able to use my credit.

I have the enV. It has a nice little app for playing music...which I never use. As far as being a phone goes, it gets good reception and call quality. I love the flipout keyboard for messaging and the candybar style when it's closed.

I might end up taking that route, It seems as if people have been waiting a LONG..... time for the other phone. I'm also wondering how usefull is a web browser on a PDA phone? Do most browsers support JAVA and Flash?

You can load Opera Mobile(payware) or Mini(freeware, Java app) both of which support nearly everything (nobody does FLASH on a pda phone). Keep in mind if you actually WANT to use the internet features of your shiny 6800, you're going to need a $45/month PDA data package.

If you're leaning towards the enV, you might want to wait till the 23rd or so for the Voyager to come out. It's an enV with a touchscreen on the front and a full-HTML browser (no java or flash, though).

Could I load one of those on my enV? What's the advantage of having a full-HTML browser, I don't mean to sound like a smart @$$ but I don't see much of one since there is no JAVA, I thought you could get mobile flash for the Windows smartphone OS?

As far as the $45 Data package :p Couldn't I use the 6800's Wi-Fi? or do they make you get it anyway even If I have an existing plan?

Full HTML is just that: full-blown support for the HTML specs, IOW it's not gonna "format" the page, strip out pictures, compress it to load quicker, etc. You can't load either of the Opera browsers on the enV, enV (and about 97% of all CDMA phones) use BREW not Java, and BREW is extremely locked down (apps have to be signed to be loaded, and are tied to your phone's ESN number). Nobody has been able to defeat BREW's encryption.

And yes, you can use the wifi on the XV6800, but without a data package, you'll either get billed per kilobyte (1.5 cents) or have it blocked, meaning that you can't do anything but make calls or send TXT away from a hotspot, and you can't do PIX messaging at all, even over wifi.

Sh*t, I had no clue you couldn't even use your own wi-fi without being charged, seems like if that were the case having full html would be a drawback because it would load everything.
So, I guess in the future I'll be better off getting a phone that uses the GSM network huh?

im posting from my i760 right now via my wireless network in my apartment. Although i have the unlimited data plan, conecting to a wifi network will NOT cause you to be charged for using EVDO.

Let me clarify.

I mean you can use the Wifi all you want without being charged. If you don't have a data package, when off-Wifi, you;ll be charged per-kb or have to have a block. With the block in place, you can't do anything off-Wifi, and even when on Wifi, you can't do MMS. You can only do MMS over the EVDO connection.

Do you need 2 separate plans for the i760? A calling plan and a data plan?
