Verizon Wireless... Which Phone to get?

Hello,

I am debating between the Samsung A670 and the Motorola V710. I have had Moto Flip Phones in the bpast and they jsut seem kinda cheap. I have had Samsung Flip Phones and like them.

Any of you guys have any other phone that are current that I should be looking at?

We have A670's and like them. One had to be sent back as the inside LCD messed up, but they covered it under warranty. Cost $5 or so to send it to them... They didn't even wipe out the phone like they said they would. Everything came back as it had gone to them, except the screen with lines through it anyway.

Edit -Just had to use a Motorola Flip the week before last (on-call -- no more ever! yeah!), and agree it was kind of flimsy.

I have an A670 and have been very pleased with it. IIRC the V710 is meaningfully larger, which may not suit your needs, but it does have Bluetooth and a great feature set.

before you buy anything online, go to the store first and play with them. You'll notice the V710 is a lot bigger and bulkier than the samsung a670. I currently want the a670 to replace my brick of a phone. I have the samsung 610 that I bought when I first signed up about 1.3 years ago.

edit: I also read on the howardforums that a lot of the good features on the v710 are hardlocked by verizon and that you have to pay small fees to use them. I would look into that if you are the person who has to have all the features on a cell phone.

I'll cast a vote for the Samsung, although I haven't owned that model. I had a Moto T720 and it was trash. Cheap plastic that squeaked and cracked over time even when in the fancy leather case. Now I have a Samsung i600... Withstands being in my pocket and attacked by change or keys, clipped on my belt and smacked into things, swan dives off of desks, use in the rain, and still looks close to new.

I was going to do that anyway. I'd rahter not wait to get the phone ordered online. My current cingular contract is up and I am ready to switch and really the prices in the store are not really that much higher.

I am going to see if they can't match the prices somehow

670 - Good phone, great resolution on it, but limited features, and digital dual-mode only. NO ANALOG.

710 - Bigger, heavier, but higher res cam, tri-mode, better screens, bluetooth.


You should check into the VX7000 too, excellent phone.

I just got the V710, don't really care about a lot of the extra features, but the reception and clarity is excellent. It gets calls in places other phones will not.

my sister has v710 and im tempted to get it too (using audiovox 8900 now which isnt bad but reception sucks somtimes when other VZN members have good reception at same location)

but she said battery sucks... then again she talks like 3hr/day!

I have the v710 and reccomend it.

Check out letstalk.com for phone deals. They have the v710 for free right now after $150 in MIR.

right now would be a pretty good time to get the v710 because its predecessor the e815 is weeks away from release.

any consideration to the lg phones? ive always seemed to have positive experiences with them.
