It's *611 from the Verizon phone if it's connected to a Verizon Digital or analog tower. If not, it's 888-466-4646, and be sure to ask them to credit your airtime for the call, I think this might use up your minutes, but I'm not sure. They will know, of course.

People in Orange County seem to say that Verizon and AT&T are the best. Check them both out to be sure they both work well at home and work, and return the one you like less during the 15-30 day return period. There's no contract cancellation penalty during this period, but they might still bill you for airtime used.
If they both seem good, I'd go for AT&T just because they still have regional plans with no roaming within your region, no matter who's tower your phone happens to find a signal with. Of course that's just me. I just prefer a plan with no roaming, because I never know what kind of boonie town I might need to drive to for one of my jobs.
Verizon replaced their regional plans with this crappy PITA plan called America's choice, which is like Sprint in a way: If you're off the designated network, you pay roaming. That's why I dumped Sprint, you jerks!
OK, OK, I like Verizon when I'm at home and down in Chicago. They've got a good cell network built (800 MHz works better, baby!), and customer service is quick and helpful.
