Go to Verizon Wireless and click on "plans and pricing", then on "promotional." This works in the LA area, not sure for other areas.

Anyway, the plan is $40 a month for 700 anytime minutes and 4000 night and weekend minutes. Night hours are 8:01 p.m. - 5:59 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning; 12:00 a.m. - 5:59 a.m. Monday morning; 8:01 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. Friday night. Weekend hours are 12:00 a.m. Saturday - 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

I think it's for new users. Luckily, I signed up w/Verizon only about 2 weeks ago, so the 1 yr renewal wasn't a biggie.

To find the deal you have to put in a Los Angeles zip code. Looks like it is only for LA.

Has anyone not in the LA area been successful calling in and getting this deal? Looks like about the best deal going right now :)

doesn't look like you get either nationwide long distance or roaming, it's a great deal if you only make calls within your local calling area, and if you don't go out of your local calling area.

Actually, anywhere in the LA/Orange/San Bernadino area is considered local calls, and there is free roaming everywhere in Cali and Nevada.
Long distance is $.15 a minute, or you can add free nationwide long distance for $5 a month.

I think this plan is good for NorCal too. Good deal as I have friends and family in SoCal.

Looks like this is plan is good in the Bay Area in Northern Cali, so I would assume this is good all over Cali.

Yes, it's available in Spokane, WA. I have a friend who changed his plan to this one. I'm on nationwide and wanted to get it, but it definitely does not include the nationwide service.

So yah, it's great if you're local-only. But for travelin' fools like myself, it sucks peachpits.

So if I added long distance for the extra 5 dollar charge, would it be the same as the national plans?

This phone covers areas within CA and Vegas, right? Meaning you can call from any part of CA and Vegas to any part of CA and Vegas without getting an extra charge. Also, if you are on roaming within this area, would you get charged?

Is this deal dead?
