Verizon users, what kind of fees are you getting charged?

Thinking hard about moving to Verizon next month but want to get a better estimate of the fees on top of the bill. Taxes are easy enough to look up but fee's not so much. Sprint is hitting me with $9 of fee's(bullshit charges they are not required to collect but do so for pure profit) on top of the bill and taxes. What is Verizon hitting you guys with?

Yes, I called Verizon and they can't tell me unless I go through the whole process credit check included which I won't do until next month when I am sure I am changing.

For what?

Verizon has thus far been very straight-forward with the account fees for the various options.

You have the voice plan, feature-phone or smartphone data fees, messaging packages, etc.
You can get an unlimited voice and messaging plan.
Feature-phone internet/data: 25mb for $10, 150mb for $15
Smartphone data plans are currently split into two categories: tiered or not.
$15 gets you the same 150mb package (limited time, according to the site)
$30 for unlimited data, no mobile hotspot

The $15/150mb is a limited-time deal, no idea for how much longer. You might be able to lock it in if it's still available, not too sure.
That packaged will be replaced with the $20 mobile internet package, with 2gb. That's a little confusing though, it's offered for both feature-phones and smartphones.

But then there's the smartphone and tablet plans, other than the unlimited $30

$20 for 1gb
$35 for 3gb with mobile-hotspot (again, looks like a limited-time deal, no clue...)
$50 for 5gb with hotspot
$80 for 10gb with hotspot

So, if you don't get a phone with the mobile 3g hotspot feature (wi-fi tethering, in other words), and/or don't care about using that feature, the best option is still the $30 for unlimited data.

I did not know about the $20 mobile internet one. Thank god. I'm on the 150mb one now and I very nearly reach it every month.

On your bill are there any monthly fees or surcharges listed along with the taxes. At the bottom of my Sprint bill after all the services are my taxes and then the fees. The fees aren't govt mandated and are just fluff Sprint collects to fatten the bottom line. If you remember last year when a bunch of people were able to leave Sprint ETF free it was over an increase in one of these fees. Here they are :

Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $3.53
Administrative Charge $3.96
Regulatory Charge $1.60
--------------
$9.09

Any crap like this on Verizon or is just your services and tax?

Mine (on Verizon) is about 12-13% total. This includes my 8.25% tax, so about 4-5% on top of my local tax rate.
