Verizon Rewards Points?

For those few people around here who have Verizon, I'm curious if any of you have ever won anything by using your Verizon Rewards Points for sweepstakes or auctions that they have on the site.

My wife had something crazy like 200,000 points saved up, so I entered her into a bunch of the contests for things like gas cards and Walmart gift cards. Even though I purchased something crazy like 20,000 entries for prizes that supposedly had 300 winners, I didn't win a damn thing!

You would think that odds would dictate that we would win at least once unless there a few million people who actually take the time to enter these lame contests.

It's run by a third party (Destination Rewards) so it's not really a Verizon entity. Just a way to get you to enroll in super cookie tracking/advertising and maybe win something as an incentive.

Every contest on the internet is rigged. 🙂

I just checked my account and it looks like i had to sign up for it. I am glad I haven't. Looking at the text of the program they make it sound like you can trade points for bonuses, not have to enter a lottery for bonuses. Seems scammy.

Don't have a Verizon account anymore, but their bidding system is the scummiest system I have ever seen.

Because there's no maximum bid/autobid, you have to sit there clicking (I'm sure people are using mouse clicking programs or other ways to have it done automatically)... and of course the length of the auction gets extended each time it's bid up during the countdown, so you could be sitting there until the maximum someone is willing to bid is reached. And even if you keep bidding sometimes the system won't accept your click when it's down to the last second, and it will give the auction win to someone else. The whole thing seems designed to make it nearly impossible to get anything that isn't a dubious discount on a crappy item. I'd rather not have rewards than be made to jump through hoops.

The only item worth getting outright outside of auction usually is a gift card for their store, but that's an item that goes quickly.
