Any other nerds heading to the store today? I took a 1/2 at work to go out and get it. I'm leaving work at 9 AM (I come in at 6) and the Verizon store opens at 10AM.

I didn't want to pre-order, because I was afraid of a shipping issue or DOA phone. (However, if I would have noticed the "Keep Unlimited - Preorder weekend" I would have bitten.

That being said, it'll end my love/hate relationship with my GNex. It's taken a zillion ROMs like a champ, but I'm not sad to see that crappy signal, battery life, and camera go.

Couple things that I'd recommend regardless of how you configure your phone/screens/launcher:

- Set the display to Movie mode and disable auto adjust skin tone
- Use Lux Dash (or something similar) to control auto-brightness instead of the default program. I never liked the default Samsung configuration
- Reformat your SDcard before moving files over to it - for some reason, some folks are having a non-stop indexing issue when bringing over a ton of files. I formatted first and then recopied over several hundred files without any issue

AT&T Note 3s also have a method now to root without tripping the Knox flag so I was able to change DPI and use app settings in xposed framework to set back the default apps. So there's hope for the Verizon version.

Success! I missed the "Unlimted Upgrade" glitch, so I had to do an upgrade swap. The Verizon rep said he couldn't/wouldn't do it in store. They said Verizon won't let them do it for the customer anymore. However, he said, you can try it at home if you want. He was very quiet during the entire process.

I upgraded a flip phone, took it home, got on the website. It said to swap SIMs and that was it. Worked like a charm! I was able to put my flip phone back on the same account on the website.

Verizon website still show unlimited on my account 3 hours later!.

Initial take on the Verizon phone. I live in a pretty strong 4G area. But the phone seems keep kicking back to 3G. A reboot get's it back, but this is pretty odd. After dealing with a GNex, I'm not willing to deal with a crappy antennae. This better be very temporary.
I've had almost no time to play around with it. I'll report more when I have more time.

Signal shouldn't drop to 3G if you live in a strong 4G area. Jumping around 4G and 3G can occur if you are in an area where the 4G coverage is ending. And that should drain battery fast!

i live in a strong 4G area, the Gnex woudl do that all the time 3g/4g - reboot 4g and all that, new GS4 never does it. i hope the note is not like the nexus for those getting it

I just got a corporate Verizon store to transfer my upgrade to a 2gb line we have on our data plan and then swapped it to another line to get the note 3.

Took a little pushing but they ended up doing it

Got mine, I hate the back less than I thought I would.

Now about that locked bootloader and root...

Yeah it's not bad surprisingly. Makes the Note 2 glossy back feel crappy in comparison. Feels good on the S-view case as well.

AT&T managed to get root with a locked bootloader and without tripping Knox - can't imagine Verizon is going to be that far behind once devs get them. Custom recovery is something else however.

My note still keeps dumping to 3g and not coming back. If I go into Airplane Mode, 4G comes back right away. Frustrating.

Hmm that doesn't sound good. Not sure what this area is like so I wonder if I'd end up with similar issues.

Considering the Note 3 when we upgrade phones in a couple of weeks and we're stuck with Verizon so will be interested to see how it is. (other choices GS4, HTC One, 5S, possibly Nexus 5 if its on Verizon and is out before too overly long, and, possibly Lumia 1520).

I'm not impressed with the radio, I keep losing my signal. :(

I hope they can fix it with an update.

Screen is very good, speed is very good, happy so far.

Odd, I don't recall seeing complaints on the T-Mobile or AT&T boards, it'd be too bad if the Verizon radios weren't good.
