why all this LTE talk then?

Oh LTE this LTE that! Oh sorry the product we're introducing is non LTE. Whoops.

They have to advertise their LTE network. But yeah...no info on the Verizon iPhone 4 having LTE.

So torn on what to do. Verizon will offer unlimited plans with the iPhone...but will that still be the case when the LTE phones hit? Do I get an iPhone with 8 month old technology in February? Do I switch to AT&T and get the Atrix? Do I stick with Verizon and wait for the Bionic? Argh!

This phone is being released too soon to the next iPhone IMO. Everyone on these boards knows it's coming.

By the time the next iPhone is out, I should have enough info if I want to stay with Android (Droid Bionic) or return to the iPhone.

11:23AM Q: Is the CDMA iPhone exclusive to Verizon?

Tim: It's a multi-year, non exclusive deal.
Ok, so if its non exclusive it means it can come to Sprint? But it's not like Sprint will ever activate your iPhone anyway. And not like an unlocked CDMA phone really has an advantage like an unlocked GSM phone :D

But at least we know that this won't be the last iPhone on VZW.

Similar to mine. I'll decide between the Atrix and the iPhone 5 by June.

It's official. No LTE on the Verizon iPhone 4. Still has the CDMA limitation (one advantage of GSM) of no data and talking at the same time. And is the wifi hotspot feature a "value add" feature like AT&T's or included as default?

Incidently I wonder how long it'll take to jailbreak/unlock it for those who want to remain with Sprint.

I don't understand why people think this so much. It's not going to be a mass thing. There are people who have horrible service on verizon and therefore at&t is what they like.

Mass? No - but I do think this will hurt AT&T a lot more than the competing platforms. AT&T's network and customer service are both terrible.

I have an OG Droid. Just checked my upgrade status at the apple site

Before Feb 19th 2012:
16GB: A million dollars
32GB: A billion dollars

After Feb 19th 2012:
16GB: $199
32GB: $299

OK I lied, it was not really a million and a billion. But for me it may as well be. Needless to say I won't be getting one.

Interesting that Jobs didn't make an appearance. Didn't want to upset ATT?

I think because to a degree, the iPhone is not "new" news and the iPhone 4 is not really new. Verizon getting the iPhone was also highly expected.

I think there's going to be a lot of Verizon customers switching to the iPhone, but I don't see other carriers losing as much as when the iPhone first came out on AT&T. This is going to be more of a "in addition to" instead of "instead of".

I think the mobile hotspot is a big deal, but as soon as someone calls, everyone gets kicked off. I don't think that a lot of people will realize the full ramifications of that since the phones on Verizon right now don't really show that limitation to its fullest.

Sucks that you can't use voice and data at the same time. At least you can use wifi data while on a call, so it's not the worst thing. I'll definitely be jumping ship come next month.

I'm predicting a huge improvement in AT&T network over the next couple of months because of the mass migrating to Verizon :D

eh, wake me when it moves to LTE or wimax

Agreed. That would've been a big deal. Otherwise, the big thing to me is that I won't hear anymore about a possible Verizon iPhone.

Luckily, nobody cares enough about T-mo to start that rumor. :D

wow... so many people on the android camp is just defending their phone, while the apple people are pushing forward.... It's actually quite entertaining to watch them duke it out!

sorry, I'm seeing this on engadget.com

There's always a fanboy... for everything.

I've owned every iPhone with the exception of the 4. After the 3GS came out I had a brief stint with Blackberry before then I went to Android. I love the "openness" of Android and the ability to customize virtually everything but Apple is pretty damn good at making the user experience very smooth. It's funny that I can do all this stuff on my Droid X but I still find myself wanting an iPhone every now and then. It's nice that I can finally have one without going back to AT&T though. :D
