Just had it installed. Took them about 2 hours from start to finish. Went with the 15 Mbps/2 Mbps package with unlimited nation wide phone service. $89.98 mth with first month free.

Some testing:

I noticed last year Verizon was installing the fiber optic cable in my neighborhood ... and waited a couple months to see if I could get FiOS. Checked their web site and it said it wasn't available.

Kept checking here and there over this last year and their web site still said it wasn't . Signed up to be notified by email as well but nothing. So last week I just called them. Sure enough it was and scheduled for today.

So if you've seen Verizon lay the cable in your area just call and check.

we were paying about ~$120/mo for comcast cable + internet
we switched to fios last the week before last and now for ~$120/mo we get cable + internet + PHONE

and we got a $100 rebate

win!

Yeah - I like high speed neffing as much as the next guy, but I can't see paying that much for it, even if it does include phone.

I can get 10/1 for 69.99 a month with cable.......

BUT thats still too much $$ for me.

without the dvr boxes our price would have been $94.99/mo which would include digital cable + internet + unlimited phone in the US.

TV is good too when you get it in your area. They keep messing with the guide but it's not that bad. Price was also a huge factor for me since I save almost $40/mo over Cox.

Their billing dept is a mess though so make sure to look over it before paying.

Also, if you have a Verizon cell phone you can get a $25 credit just for bundling the bills.

i pay $98.90 for "digital plus" tv and 10/1 inet from Time Warner

This is just a long standing personal hatred, but I would never give Verizon a dime of my money. I don't care how fast FIOS is.
