Hello How are you doing, just wanted an opinion about Verizon DSL Service i'm about to be moving to New York Staten Island and since money is kind of tight since i'm In school i'm scraping my Cable modem Service that i Currently am enjoying from Comcast, even though at specific times of day it really sucks and slows down. Also the rate for cable modem service if you do not have cable in ny from time warner road runner service is 59.99 and 45.00 if you do have cable service.......................Verizon has a special going on for the first three months it only costs about 29.95 for now since its cheaper i'm about to pick it up......................Do any of you guys have it now? And will i Notice any loss of speed going from A cable modem to a DSL one.................I expect a little loss but will that loss be so considerable that i will not be able for example enjoy any multiplayer games that i enjoy now.......................Any Opinions would or comments would be greatly appreciated..........

I cancel and in love with cable.. and yeah.. i'm on the premium super package... 105 +tax..

I use Verizon as my DSL provider. I have never had any problems with them and my speed is always right around what it should be. I've got the 1500/384 deal that runs me $42.50/month.

I'm not sure this belongs in General Hardware, but I use Verizon DSL in the Washington, DC area, and have used it for over a year. For about six months it was spotty--it'd go down for periods of several hours to a day or two, or it would drop you off every few hours. I think that they just didn't have sufficient equipment. And their technical support absolutely stunk--one time they told me to take apart my network and log on directly from one machine, and, of course, an hour later everything was fine. However, for the last 6-8 months it has been near perfect--it always there and it's always the same speed, unlike cable.

I've had verizon dsl for about a year now and my service has been pretty good. No complaints. Doesn't go down bery much, and the speed is normal. I have the 768 down/768 up plan for 34.95 a month.
