im in the 562 area code, southern cali, and when i called them they stated in the automated message that several area codes, including 562 is having probs. talked to a gent there and there is no ETA]

im getting aroudn 500kb/sec instead of the full 1.3mb/sec i usually get. plus internet gaming is slow. latencies are high. even if i ping a public dns, its like 200ms.

after reading through dslreport forum for verizon, there s ahuge thread about these slowdowns. most notable is NY. seems like verizon over sold their bandwidth and now they are trying to fix their prob. thats why in peak hours its hella slow, but miracreously my connection is normal at around 1-5AM. the verizon tech alluded that verizon dsl customers are not on their own loop but share it with others, hence the crappy speeds on peak time

That's why I switched from Hellrizon to Road Runner years ago. I absolutely hate them. In the 3 years of RR, I've had maybe 4 outages. 1 caused by a fallen tree branch and the rest caused by upgrades to the network which were resolved quickly.

Its weird. At home, i'm having strange lag and bandwidth issues on my Verizon DSL. But at work just 3 blocks away, I get the full 3mbps. I'm confused as all hell. Brooklyn here.

I just want my regular 1.5, as I've had 768 for years. I could care less about fios right now. They always give me the same excuses.

I just want to use my internet in the daytime and experience something akin to Broadband. The reason I'm not jumping over to Timewarner's RR is because I dislike that company on principal

Well, get over your hatred and get cable anway. fact is, you're forcing yourself to have only one option, yet complain about it.

Get over your hatred of Time warner, I'm sure that's not impossible. If anything, you can always go with Earthlink highspeed.
