Verizon cell phone question...

My wife dropped her cell phone and broke it. I was wondering if I have to buy one from
Verizon, or could I buy any Verizon compatible phone. The phones on there website seem a bit expensive.

You can buy any Verizon phone, then you just call them up and read them the ESN # under the battery

you can buy any verizon compatible phone, as long as it is gps-enabled. phones within the last 2 years or so should be...but check to be certain. they will not activate phones which do not have the gps capability (for 911-compliance reasons)
