whats the deal on the new broadband verizon service? its advertised on tv with the "not so hot-spot commercial".

whats the price and how is the connection, etc? anyone have it?

Are you talking about the wireless service?

I've got it for work on my laptop. Its pretty slow and spotty. Once in a while you may get a fast connection but their claims of 400-700kbps is overstated IMO. I get 100kbps on average but it cuts out a lot and times out often.

Strange to see this thread today, I just got an assignment yesterday to check it out. I have a older model PCcard (PC5220) to work with. I don't have enough experience yet to make any comments.

Did find out it doesn't work well at my house, which kind of sucks since that's where I planned to do the work. I could only get dialup speed which won't work for what I need to do.

OK. That's what I have. Its not as good as advertised but its better than nothing IMO. If I can find a WiFi hotspot, I'll use that over the VZ Aircard.

we got a demo card from them to test
it worked ok
but i don't recommend it while driving around, it seemed to have trouble switching from tower to tower or something

the speed was good/better than the Sprint Vision card i use

this was a couple months ago when they were just testing in this city, they may have better coverage now that it is "live"

the TV ad i saw said $60/month unlimited
