Had Verizon wireless for a while and we've been happy with up to the last few months. Now we're dropping calls like crazy at home, have to go outside or not move around at all. Been to the store to have the phones flashed etc. Contract isn't up until December so we'd have to buy different phones for possibly better reception.
So the question is is there a good way to end our contract without penalty as friends that come over with Cingular etc have no reception problems at our house.
TIA, PF.

No, I think you'd just have to bite the bullet.

Has anything changed at home that would screw up your reception like that?

its odd that your reception would just go south like that. Have you updated your roaming list? Software upgraded on the phone? What phone do you have?

I had that type of problem with Sprint a couple of years ago in LV.

They were reworking their local cell tower system.

More were being taken off line due to maintenance than were being reactivated.

After 6 months of so, stability returned. They were nice enough to provide me with lost call credits which brought the bill almost to 9 for that time frame.

Normally, they would only do 10 calls per line per month.

When I complained that I could not even get through to their CSR and/or those calls were getting dropped, they allowed ALL reported drops to get credited back.

Were at the store yesterday, complaining..got the phones updated with roaming etc. No improvment. Phone is LG VX6100, nothing new at the house that would cause problems.

Well, you said they updated the phones, but for future reference, you just dial *228 and press 2 (with Verizon).

I do it every couple weeks, at times I'll notice some of my weaker spots disappear. :)

Same here. Have had Verizon for 2.5 years. The first 12 months were great. OUr house used to have 4-5 bars and now I have one, sometimes two on a good day.

I get dropped calls all the time now. Sometimes I won't get a voicemail message until the next day. The SO's phone won't ring half the time. And my phone will sponaneously restart. One day at work it restarted 4 times.:(

If the phone is restarting the phone has a problem.

What type of question is that? The op has clearly used kryptonite for his walls.

My biggest gripe is sometimes my texts won't get to their destination till days later.

Sounds very familiar except the phone shutting off part. :)
